Dear HSTAT Parents,
The HSTAT College Office is excited to work alongside you as we prepare our students for their post-secondary plans. Planning for college and careers is an exciting time here at HSTAT. As college advisors, we will be working with ALL cohorts to help prepare them for college and beyond. Below is a tentative plan for how we will work together to ensure our students are set-up for success and have exposure to the best opportunities possible.
Post-Secondary Planning:
- Students receive preparation for the PSAT and SAT exams
- Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students will receive college-related lessons in their classes.
- Beginning Junior year, students are scheduled for in-person meetings with college advisors to create a list of majors, colleges, and opportunity programs that are of interest.
- Seniors receive one-on-one guidance throughout the college application process, applying for financial aid etc.
- ALL students will use their Naviance accounts (student.naviance.com) to conduct research on college offerings on an ongoing basis
- To stay updated on presentations, tutorials and to-do lists, parents can access the “College Office” Google Classroom page by going to www.classroom.google.com and entering the class code for their student’s cohort.
We look forward to working together this year and will continue to provide guidance to your students throughout their senior year and beyond.
